The Amazing Race - Flagler style

My kids watched the latest season of the Amazing Race and loved it. So I thought – let’s make up our own, invite everyone we know and make a summer of it. Then, my more realistic friend volunteered to help and help me keep it doable.

So we invited about 30 families but you know not everyone can make it. Besides I have 7 kids so it takes several families to make sure each child has friends involved.

Then we began the planning. We live in Flagler county in Florida so we are blessed with a ton of historical places to visit. We homeschool so we figured that would be perfect – educational and fun!
We selected 10 historical places and 10 places we could go just for fun. Then my friend and I split up the places and started calling. Some places were more than happy to accomodate us and others were not able but still very nice. So don’t be afraid to ask. One place that turned me down said “you never know unless you ask.” So although this may seem scary to some of you – you can do it!!
