Meet Kaya book club

 

The boys played some games and discussed how next month they will read a book of their choice and prepare some kind of project or display.

The older girls apparently worked really hard – lol. They briefly discussed the last book selected and talked about the new plan.

The younger girls discussed the first two chapters of Meet Kaya. After a brief recap of the chapters we played string games like cat’s cradle http://www.alysion.org/figures/catcradle.htm and tried to make a tee pee out of string. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bctf6fLTJfc

Not sure if it is just me but the tee pee was so inconsistent and took a lot of imagination even when it sort of turned out.

After that came the real fun – making tee pees out of pretzel sticks, chocolate frosting and fruit roll ups. It was trickier than I expected but fun and yummy!
